How is Amulet different from ballistic fiberglass?
Good question!
While there are too many differences to list here, some of the most significant include physical properties such as weight and thickness. Unlike fiberglass, Amulet is engineered to be extremely light in weight and thin in profile. This is why it is particularly suitable for application to interior structures such as furniture, millwork, walls and doors. Amulet can even be molded to shape!
In addition, all Amulet technology is non-caustic and can be handled without
special protective safety measures.
When purchasing interior furnishings with Amulet, can I choose different styles, fabrics and finishes?
Yes, absolutely.
Just as you would specify any other contract furniture product, so too can you choose styles, fabrics and finishes from some of your favorite manufacturers. This, along with the expertise that comes from many years of manufacturing experience, is the reason that we only work with Tier 1 manufacturers.
Is it possible to retro-fit existing furnishings?
Yes.
If you are referring to 'office systems' or 'workstations' we've got you covered!
Our Amulet Retro-Fit™Kits are designed to be compatible with many popular manufacturer's products. They are also quite easy to install and come with all required attachment hardware.
Can Amulet be applied to existing millwork?
Yes. You just need to consult with a carpentry expert.
We will be happy to refer you to one should you need assistance.
Can I purchase Amulet®Ballistic Barrier panels without the furniture?
Yes!
Does Amulet come in specific panel sizes? How about custom sizes?
Yes to both.
Our 'standard' Amulet panel size is 4' x 8'. However, custom sizes are available.
Are they easy to install?
Yes! Amulet panels are typically applied to structures with adhesives or fasteners.
How do I purchase Amulet products?

Is Amulet on a GSA schedule?
Yes.
Amulet products can be found on Contract No. GS07F5695P, Schedule 84
Can US Homeland Security Grant Program Funds be used to purchase furnishings embed with Amulet?

Furnishings containing Amulet are viewed as a 'ballistic barrier device' and qualify for funding via the US Homeland Security Grant Program administered by FEMA.
Please refer to HSGP guidelines for specifics.
How is Amulet Intercept™
different from other Gunshot Detection Systems?
Great question.
The differences are significant and there are many.
While there are simply too many to list here, we thought we would mention a few...
First, we prefer to think of Amulet Intercept™ as 'ballistic' detection rather
than 'gun shot' as it is capable of detecting a full spectrum of ballistics, including blast.
It is a uniquely capable 'system' as it provides both immediate physical protection via Amulet®
Ballistic Barriers while automatically communicating critical information to first responders.
Amulet®Ballistic Barrier 'on-board' sensors are very small and well hidden, yet a single sensor
is capable of detecting a ballistic event within an area of up to 150' in circumference. Consequently, less sensors are required for coverage.
Our state-of-the-art 'energy wave' ballistic recognition technology is significantly
more accurate than older generation technologies. 'False Alarms'
are virtually a thing of the past.
Critical information is transmitted instantaneously.
Detection, location, ballistic identification and notification are fully automated.
Not only can Amulet Intercept™sensors detect ballistic events, they too can be detected
via our web-based interface. Should an Amulet Intercept™sensor be placed in a furniture product that is relocated on site, it can still be detected and operational.
Amulet Intercept™ sensors can be placed virtually anywhere...walls, doors, furniture, you name it.
Significantly less expensive to purchase and deploy than other systems.
Capable of Indoor and Outdoor detection.
